The life of Siddhartha Gautama Buddha. The light of Asia and the founder of Buddhim is fairly well- known.
Born in a Royal family of kapilavastu (on the foot - hills of the Himalayas north of Bihar) in the sixth century B.C, Siddhartha renouned the world early in life.The sights of disease , old age and death impressed the young prince
with idea the world was full of suffering, and the life of carefree medicant suggested fo him a possible way of escape .As an ascetic , he was restlessin search of the real source of all sufferings and the means of complete deliverance , He sought light from many religious teachers the means of learned the scholars of the day and pratised gread austerities , but nothing satisfied him . This threw him back on his own resources.
The essence of Buddha's teaching is known as the four noble truth.They are (1)truth that life in the world is full of suffering (2) truth that there is a cause of this suffering (3) truth that it is passible to stop suffering and (4) truth there is path which leads to the cessation of suffering.
The fourth noble truth is that there is apath to reach a state free from suffering . The path recommended by Buddha is called the eight fold noble path. They are
(1) right view
(2) right resolve
(3) right speech
(4) right conduct
(5)right livehood
(6)right effort
(7) right mindfulness and
(8) right concentration.
Eight fold noble path consists of three parts .they are (1) knowledge or perfect wisdom (panna)
(2) conduct (sila) and conceration (samadhi).
The highest goal that man can achieve to attaim nirvana, we must follow the eight fold noble path Goodness,wisdom, tranguility are the inseparable functions of attaining nirvana.
